The story of La Sportiva began in the 1920s in a small village in the Dolomites, a mountain range in northern Italy, part of the Southern Alps. Narciso Delladio had been making wooden shoes and leather boots for local lumberjacks for many years.
After World War II, the demand for boots steadily increased, prompting Narciso to hire more people. Around this time, the name La Sportiva was born. Year after year, the brand grew successfully, becoming a leader in the production of climbing and hiking footwear.
In 1996, the company moved to a new, more modern facility in Ziano di Fiemme, in the heart of the Dolomites. La Sportiva’s mission remains "Innovation with Passion" to this day. In 2008, the company celebrated its 80th anniversary with various events to honor its legacy.
